Have you ever been to a city centre in the middle of the sea?
The city of Kristiansund is situated on four different islands. But don’t worry – in minutes, the tiny ferry Sundbåten will take you between Kirkelandet, Innlandet, Nordlandet and Gomalandet. Ask the skipper to let you off at the Milnbrygga wharf, where you can visit the Norwegian Clipfish Museum. Kristiansund was partly built on fishing, and especially the clipfish – split and salted cod that were traditionally dried on the cliffs along the sea.
Clipfish and bacalao are still staple foods in the region. Get a taste of some of the freshest seafood at Smia Fiskerestaurant. Located in a house from 1787, it is one of the most unique eateries in town. Speaking of food from the region – you need to try the award-winning cheeses from Tingvollost, especially “Kraftkar”, which has been named the world’s best cheese!
Join the annual food festival Snadderfestivalen in June to really dig into the local food, drink the local craft beers, and taste the local aquavit, which is made on potatoes and seaweed.
Did you know that Kristiansund is home to the country’s oldest opera? With more than 100 performances a year, you can always catch a show. Every year in February, they arrange the popular festival Operafestukene, where you get served opera for breakfast, lunch and dinner for 17 days.
You should also join the Nordic Light Festival of Photography, where famous international and Norwegian photographers exhibit their pictures all over town, give lectures, and drink with the locals all through the night.

The village and municipality of Dobrinj is located on the eastern part of the island of Krk, Croatia. Dobrinj is located on a 200 metre-high hill overlooking the beautiful Soline Bay.
The first written record of Dobrinj and the history of Dobrinjsko dates back to 1100. For centuries this was an extremely agricultural area. The people were occupied in cattle breeding and olive cultivation as well as in managing the wealth of the forest. Today, the village is famous for its picturesque traditional costumes, its folklore events, the sopele school (Krk’s wind instrument) and the traditional home-made cuisine. In the island’s centre, rocky houses and narrow rocky streets that breathe days gone by prevail.
Close to Dobrinj is the Biserujka cave which astonishes with its beauty and curiosity of its sediment shapes. It is the only cave on the island, among more than 50, that is organised for the reception of visitors. According to legend, the Biserjuka cave (biser-jewel) received its name from the treasure that was found in it, which belonged to the local pirates.

A Leisurely Day in West Bay
If you want a change from the beaches and coastal walks then make for the harbour where you will also find river boats for hire. From here you can take a leisurely rowing boat trip on the River Brit through riverside meadows, but don’t forget to take a picnic. Or take a stroll over to the old station and walk along the disused railway track to Bridport where you can visit the local brewery for a spot of wine tasting!
The Coastal and Harbour Improvements
West Bay had been known as Bridport Harbour until the railway arrived in 1884. Now only the harbour itself retains that name. Over the centuries West Bay has been battered by the elements, baring the scars of numerous storm battles. A three year scheme to rebuild the coastal defences and harbour piers at a cost of £18 million was completed in the winter of 2004 / 2005. The Duke of York formally opened the completed scheme on Tuesday, 8th March 2005.

The Fiorella Residence overlooks the newly developed Port of Cattolica on the border with Gabicce Mare and enjoys an unparalleled view of the sea and the dock.
The property boasts a privileged position in what is the most picturesque, characteristic and peaceful area of Cattolica.
We are just 200m from the beach and the Lungomare walk leading to the central square of the dancing fountains.
With over 30 years of family management we are committed to ensuring maximum availability, courtesy and attention to our customers.
If you are in Cattolica you can not miss on your agenda a close encounter with the fantastic coastline of the Riviera. We advise you to move to the height of the port, an area known as Marina di Cattolica, recently renovated and divided into a dock at the sea and one inside. Its width allows it to contain about 200 ships of quite considerable size.
In addition to being an important nautical site, where various services and information are made available for boat owners (parking, technical assistance, mooring assistance, fuel, toilets, and much more), Marina di Cattolica is more than just a tourist attraction. Its function has been crucial in the history of the riparian municipalities, above all for what concerns the commercial and cultural exchanges.

The city is not just a popular destination for tourists but is also well-known as the city of the Zeppelin. Aerospace, automotive and high tech corporations can be found in Friedrichshafen nowadays. Inventors such as Count Zeppelin, Claude Dornier, Theodor Kober, Karl Maybach and the Count of Soden-Fraunhofen still represent the literal spirit of discovery and the great curiosity about new things here in southern Germany even today. This also explains why the relatively small city of Friedrichshafen with its approximately 55,000 inhabitants regularly tops the rankings in many areas like sport, education, research, technology, and economy.

Scenic View Campground was established in 2017. Development of the grounds began in the fall of 2014 when the 3.5 acre pond was developed.
After the completion of the pond, construction of the Bar & Grill began, and in May of 2017, Scenic View Campground Bar & Grill was opened. Opening night set a high bar for what was to come!
Since opening night, the Bar & Grill has become the go-to gathering place in the area. Not only is it a bar and grill, but we also do catering, event rentals, live entertainment, and we’re open to snowmobiles throughout the winter. We’re growing fast, and always making changes along the way to improve our customers’ experience. Don’t let the word “bar” fool you; our typical Friday night is the perfect atmosphere for families to enjoy a meal together.
While the Bar & Grill was growing rapidly throughout 2017, the Campground wasn’t far behind. While mostly under construction throughout the 2017 season, the Campground’s Grand Opening was in May of 2018, and grand it was! With the beautiful grounds nearly full, there was much fun all around.
Although we are fully open, we are always looking to improve on what we currently have. Among those areas to be completed or updated are the beach and swimming area, docks for the paddle boats, and an all-new event pavilion for graduations, reunions, birthdays, weddings, and much more! As we’re still in the building stages (2018), don’t be surprised if you come back each year to see something new and improved!

Wilson, North Carolina’s story has captivated the imagination of the country. Farm machinery repairman, Vollis Simpson, began making gigantic kinetic sculptures at his family farm in Wilson County when he was nearing retirement age. He kept making his “whirligigs”–seven days a week–until about six months before he dies at the age of 94 in May of 2013. By that time he was famous. The story of Wilson’s campaign to use the renowned whirligigs to recharge its downtown has catapulted the community into the national spotlight. Grants from ArtPlace America, the Kresge Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Arts have helped the project come close to its goal of opening the Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park and Museum.

Beautiful video of Earth as seen from the International Space Station. You will regularly see astronauts doing maintenance and upgrades to the station.
The International Space Station is a space station, or a habitable artificial satellite, in low Earth orbit. Its first component launched into orbit in 1998, the last pressurised module was fitted in 2011, and the station is expected to be used until 2028.
Development and assembly of the station continues, with components scheduled for launch in 2018 and 2019. The ISS is the largest human-made body in low Earth orbit and can often be seen with the naked eye from Earth. The ISS consists of pressurised modules, external trusses, solar arrays, and other components. ISS components have been launched by Russian Proton and Soyuz rockets, and American Space Shuttles.
The ISS serves as a microgravity and space environment research laboratory in which crew members conduct experiments in biology, human biology, physics, astronomy, meteorology, and other fields. The station is suited for the testing of spacecraft systems and equipment required for missions to the Moon and Mars.
The ISS maintains an orbit with an altitude of between 330 and 435 km (205 and 270 mi) by means of reboost manoeuvres using the engines of the Zvezda module or visiting spacecraft. It completes 15.54 orbits per day.
The ISS programme is a joint project among five participating space agencies: NASA, Roscosmos, JAXA, ESA, and CSA.
