The NC State Memorial Belltower is a tall stone tower at North Carolina State University in Raleigh. It was built to honor students who died in World War I. The tower has 55 real bells that were added in 2021. They ring for events like graduation, holidays, and school victories. It is one of the most famous symbols of the university.
The Belltower stands at the edge of campus, close to Hillsborough Street, where you can find cafés, shops, and restaurants. Every year, the Krispy Kreme Challenge starts here, runners race to a Krispy Kreme shop, eat a dozen doughnuts, and run back, all in under an hour! How Frenchy’s Restaurants Got Started
Michael Preston AKA FrenchyMichael Preston was born in Quebec, a French-speaking province of Canada. His family moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan when he was in middle school. Michael grew up in a bilingual household, so when his new friends heard him speaking French with his mom, they started calling him “Frenchy”…and it stuck.
Shortly after high school, Frenchy and some friends took a vacation to Clearwater Beach, Florida. He loved it so much that he decided to stay and get a job at a local restaurant. Frenchy worked hard learning every job as he progressed from dishwasher to manager. After eight years in the industry, he was ready to make his dream a reality – opening his own restaurant.
Frenchy’s goal was simple: to have a friendly, laid-back place where people could come to enjoy a cold drink and fresh seafood. So in 1981, Frenchy’s Original Café, the quaint restaurant on a tiny side street, opened its doors to the beach community (see images below). The Café became an instant success, with lines of people stretching out the door on a daily basis. To ensure a constant source of fresh fish to the Café, Frenchy purchased a fleet of fishing boats and eventually opened Frenchy’s Seafood Company. With these resources in place, Frenchy’s became “famous” for its fresh Super Grouper sandwich, spawning the opening of four more restaurants: Frenchy’s Saltwater Café in 1989, Frenchy’s Rockaway Grill in 1991, Frenchy’s South Beach Cafe in 2003 and Frenchy’s Outpost Bar & Grill in 2013. Three decades running, the Frenchy’s restaurants are still regarded as a staple for delicious, fresh-from-the-Gulf seafood at reasonable prices in a fun and casual beach atmosphere.
In 2010, Frenchy continued building his mini empire on Clearwater Beach with the purchase of the former Olympia Motel, located on East Shore Drive. After months of extensive renovations, Frenchy’s Oasis Motel opened, boasting a 15 unit waterfront property, classically designed in retro 60’s, offering fantastic modern accommodations.
Czeladz is a place with an intriguing name and equally interesting history. This Silesian town is claimed to be one of the oldest towns of Katowice Agglomeration. It was born out of industrial and mining traditions.
Czeladz is populated by approximately 33.500 people. Despite its location in the post-mining region, the town is very popular among both tourists and locals. Czeladz attracts everyone with its amazing architecture and numerous monuments. The best place to start sightseeing with is the Old Town and the Market Square.
Here we are in Plagne Centre, 1,970m above sea level. From this central location, there are three ski lifts that will take you wherever you want to go: Bécoin and Colorado chairlifts and the Funiplagne gondola. It is the starting point for the Colorado toboggan run and the Buffalo Park fun slope…yee haw!
Nearby, the town of Aime la Plagne has a tradition of welcoming travellers. The first signs of human occupation date from the Middle Iron Age, between around 450 and 25 BC. It is about 20 kilometres from La Plagne’s high altitude villages.
A town of around 4500 inhabitants, Aime offers numerous shops, restaurants and services, where you can find all you need during your stay. It has a railway station served by TGV trains. There is a weekly market on Thursdays all year round in the town centre, with local artisans selling food, beer, honey and cheese, as well as one-off creations, decorative items, furniture and accessories.

The village and municipality of Dobrinj is located on the eastern part of the island of Krk, Croatia. Dobrinj is located on a 200 metre-high hill overlooking the beautiful Soline Bay.
The first written record of Dobrinj and the history of Dobrinjsko dates back to 1100. For centuries this was an extremely agricultural area. The people were occupied in cattle breeding and olive cultivation as well as in managing the wealth of the forest. Today, the village is famous for its picturesque traditional costumes, its folklore events, the sopele school (Krk’s wind instrument) and the traditional home-made cuisine. In the island’s centre, rocky houses and narrow rocky streets that breathe days gone by prevail.
Close to Dobrinj is the Biserujka cave which astonishes with its beauty and curiosity of its sediment shapes. It is the only cave on the island, among more than 50, that is organised for the reception of visitors. According to legend, the Biserjuka cave (biser-jewel) received its name from the treasure that was found in it, which belonged to the local pirates.

The webcam is located at the former Chicago & North Western powerhouse, now managed by Structured Development. This historic building, constructed between 1909 and 1911 in the Beaux-Arts style, originally housed the equipment that generated electricity for the Chicago & North Western Railroad’s terminal.
Today, the building has been repurposed by Structured Development into three floors of office and retail spaces. The Powerhouse is recognized as a City of Chicago Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. To learn more about this location, click here.

The portion of the building in view dates from 1805. Several construction projects undertaken between 1964 and the present have added a considerable amount of office space that is out of view of the camera.
Damrak, the red carpet of Amsterdam. The street that is first to be seen at the exit of Amsterdam Central Station. Here you will find large shops, hotels and restaurants. In addition, the Damrak is connected to the parallel busy shopping street the Nieuwendijk. The Damrak runs between Amsterdam Centraal in the north and Dam Square in the south.
The Damrak is the oldest part of Amsterdam. The city at the mouth of the Amstel came into existence here, almost a thousand years ago. The Damrak is still the main gateway for millions of visitors and residents of the city. An upgrade of this area and thus the entrance of the city was one of the most important reasons to start the Red Carpet project in the Centrum district.
Today there are nearly two dozen buildings designated as monuments. There’s the old stock exchange, which nowadays hosts a wide variety of cultural events. Closer to Dam square is the huge, prestigious Bijenkorf warehouse attracts bustling crowds of locals and visitors alike.
From the tour boats near Central Station to the interesting architecture along the way, the good features of Damrak look like a preview of what Amsterdam has to offer.

Lago Trasimeno is the 4th largest lake in Italy. The lake is clean and safe for swimming, safe for children and very warm during the summer months due to its shallow depth. Fishing for pike, carp and tench, and other species of fish, is a way of life for many locals and a popular tourist activity. The lake is fished commercially and many species of fish can be sampled at the numerous local restaurants surrounding the lake.
The Trasimeno climate is warm, with long summers and moderate winters. From May to September, the Lake is warm enough to swim. It has well tended beaches and variety of watersports including sailing, windsurfing and diving and the town of Passignano is the best place to find these. Lago di Trasimeno is favorite holiday destination for tourists and locals; sunbathing on beaches or sailing, kayaking and canoeing.
There are regular ferries, out to the 3 islands from Tuoro-sul-Trasimeno to Isola Maggiore. There is a fishing village whose houses date from the 14th century. St. Francis himself slept here in 1211. Horseback riding and 9-hole golf club in Panicale. You can enjoy thermal spas at Chincano Terme, Sarteano and Montepulciano.
There is also an exciting nightlife in all the small towns surrounding Trasimeno throughout the summer months, and is especially popular with Italian Tourists in the month of August. Weekly markets abound throughout the region, with local produce, olive oils, wines, specialty cheeses and meats available. All within easy access of the property.

The sweeping spiral ramp in the foreground is part of the Shuto Expressway, a major urban highway system. This junction connects the Shuto Expressway Inner Circular Route (C1) with Shuto Expressway Route 11 Daiba Line, which leads directly to the Rainbow Bridge (Tokyo) and the bayside districts beyond.
At night, traffic flows through this elevated network against a glowing skyline of high-rises and waterfront lights. The illuminated tower with the blue beacon is Tokyo Tower, a classic landmark. Just beyond lies Tokyo Bay, where ships and ferries pass through the port. The Lomnice nad Popelkou winter stadium has a long history. At the current location behind Orlovna, a natural ice rink was built in 1953. An artificial ice area was built in 1980 and a hockey hall was built in 2000 with a load of 23 million. The dimensions of the ice surface are 57x27 m.
The winter stadium uses indirect evaporation technology. The coolant is the brine which is cooled by ammonia vapors. They are cooled by air fans. Waste heat from overheated ammonia vapors is used to heat the water to the roller and to heat the changing rooms.

The Saint-Malo Cathedral, in the center of the old town, is built in Romanesque and Gothic styles and features stained-glass windows depicting city history. Nearby is La Demeure de Corsaire, an 18th-century privateer’s house and museum.

The Sixhaven is located in the centre of Amsterdam on the river ‘IJ’ opposite the Central Railway Station. You can reach the Sixhaven with upright mast from the IJsselmeer (lake IJssel) and the North Sea.
The Sixhaven is conveniently situated near the centre of Amsterdam, which can be reached by ferry about 5 minutes walk from the Sixhaven.
A short ferry trip (5 minutes) will take you to the Central Railway Station. The ferries go frequently, day and night (see time-table public transport GVB).
The Geirangerfjord is one of Norway's most visited tourist sites and has been included on the UNESCO World Heritage List, along with the Nærøyfjord, since 2005.
Along the sides of this magnificent fjord, there a number of abandoned farms. The farms that are most commonly visited are Skageflå, Knivsflå and Blomberg. Skageflå can also be reached on foot from Geiranger, while the others can only be seen from the fjord.
The fjord also has several impressive waterfalls. The two most notable waterfalls in the Geirangerfjord are ‘de Syv Søstre’ (the seven sisters) and ‘Friaren’ (the suitor, also called the wooer). The two waterfalls face one another across the fjord, and the suitor is said to be trying to woo the sisters opposite.
Brudesløret (the bridal veil) is another waterfall on the fjord, thus named because it falls delicately over one rocky edge, and when seen backlit by the sun looks like a thin veil over the rocks.

Near the centre of Quimiac in North West France, you will find the large beach of Lanséria. This beautiful bay is supervised during the summer and is equipped for people with reduced mobility. It is the main beach of Quimiac. It is crowded in the summer season.
Lianchihtan (Lotus Pond) Scenic Area is one of Kaohsiung's most traditional scenic areas, and was listed as one of the "Eight Sights of Fongshan" in the Qing Dynasty. There are pavilions by the beach, massive statues of gods and also the "old city" surrounded by the city wall, where you can view traditional living settlements and businesses, you can also sample Zuoying's rich, diverse food in the old streets and traditional markets.
The Longhu Tower (Dragon Tiger Tower) is the most famous scenic spot in Lianchihtan. Constructed in 1976, the tower is seven stories tall, and the dragon and tiger doors are its entrance and exit. Its walls are decorated with koji pottery, which represent proselytizing stories, from a variety of artists.

Myeongdong Cathedral was the first and most important Catholic church in Korea and is an important symbol of Christianity in the country. The church is an important icon of Korea and Myeongdong. The elegant cathedral was the first Gothic style church in Korea to be constructed of brick. The roof of the church is 23 meters (75 feet) tall while the bell tower is 45 meters (147 feet) tall. The floor plan of the church was designed around a Latin cross.
The construction of the cathedral started in 1892 and was completed in 1898. Unlike most Gothic buildings, Myeongdong Cathedral was built with bricks instead of stones. It gives the cathedral a characteristic atmosphere. The splendid high ceilings inside the church and the arches in between the magnificent inner pillars show the beautiful Gothic style well. The basement is contains the remains of nine saints and martyrs, who devoted their lives to the propagation of Catholicism in Korea. Behind the cathedral, Seongmo Dongsan (St. Mary's garden) is situated. During lunch hour, pipe organs are playing here. The garden offers a peaceful resting space after visiting the cathedral.

Spinner’s home is located in 30-feet of water, on the pilings of the pier. Our crowning jewel is packed daily with fishermen anxious to take a bow to a tarpon or pick a fight with a feisty Barracuda.

Old Faithful, in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming is one of the most famous geysers in the world and a must-see for visitors to the park. It erupts every 90 minutes on average, shooting boiling water up to 180 feet into the air. Each eruption lasts 1.5 to 5 minutes and is an incredible sight of nature’s power. Most White Storks are monogamous and pair for life. Female storks lay 2 – 5 chalky-white eggs which are laid at two day intervals. Eggs hatch after 33 – 34 days of incubation. The incubation period is shared between both parents. After hatching, both parents take turns to feed the chicks. Food is placed on the edge of the nest by the parents but water is provided by regurgitation.
When newly hatched, young white storks have pinkish legs and a small black beak with a brown tip. young storks have two successive coats of down. Its body is firstly partly covered with short, sparse downy feathers which are whitish in colour which are replaced after around a week with a fluffy white down. Flight feathers appear after 3 weeks along with black scapulars (shoulder feathers).

This suspension bridge crosses Tokyo Bay, joining Minato City and Koto City. The bridge is colorfully illuminated at night using power only generated by solar panels. The bridge, the cars and the skyscrapers combine to offer a beautiful light show.
From this vantage point you can also see the Shuto Expressway, the Harumi Passenger Terminal and a huge panorama of the Tokyo city skyline. Welcome to Japan!

The Brian Boru Pub in Glasnevin Dublin Ireland. The Brian Boru has been a public house for over 200 years with the present building dating from the 1850s and has been in the ownership of the Hedigan family since 1904.
